How ThrottleRun collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, exports, and deletes rider information.
ThrottleRun is provided by True Course Technologies. This policy covers the ThrottleRun website, rider workspace, Android applications, organized-ride tools, club deployments, and the application programming interfaces used by those products.
We collect the information needed to create and secure an account, including email address, display name, authentication and multi-factor status, accepted policy versions, paired-device identifiers, notification preferences, profile details, and optional home city or region. We do not ask riders to place a private street address in a public profile.
Riders may store motorcycle details, optional VIN and odometer information, routes, waypoints, searched businesses or addresses, trip stops, ride briefings, maintenance schedules, service history, receipts, issue notes, and related attachments. These records support planning, safety reminders, service history, trip preparation, and rider-requested exports.
Location is used only for visible rider features such as map positioning, route navigation, foreground ride recording, rider-initiated live sharing, hazards, trip progress, and checkpoint verification. A recorded ride may include route geometry, timestamps, speed and distance summaries, and the most recent point needed to show an active ride. Android ride recording begins only after a prominent disclosure and rider action, displays a persistent notification, can be stopped immediately, and ends when the ride is finished.
Live sharing is off unless a rider enables it for an active ride or an event workflow that clearly requests it. Temporary contact links expire, club access requires an active membership, and active sharing is cleared when the ride ends. Event registration, roles, attendance, incidents, announcements, checkpoint claims, and poker or dice results may be stored with server timestamps and rule-version evidence so organizers can operate and audit the event.
We process club and event messages, support requests, in-app notifications, push-delivery tokens, webhook delivery status, application version, synchronization status, and security audit events. Operational telemetry is designed to exclude credentials, request bodies, exact coordinates, and personal message content. Camera access is used only after an authorized event worker taps Scan QR for day-of rider check-in. ThrottleRun does not store the scanner image and does not include hidden camera, hidden microphone, covert audio recording, or always-on listening.
When paid service is used, ThrottleRun stores the plan, entitlement, billing status, amounts, receipt references, and provider transaction identifiers needed to operate the subscription and account history. Square processes payment-card information. ThrottleRun does not store complete payment-card numbers or card security codes.
Information is used to authenticate riders, provide maps and route planning, record rides, calculate rider-selected statistics, operate clubs and events, maintain motorcycle records, send requested notifications, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, investigate failures, support account recovery, enforce permissions, and provide rider-requested exports or deletion workflows.
Information is disclosed only as needed to operate a selected feature: configured map, routing, search, traffic, weather, campground, fuel, restaurant, vehicle-safety, payment, email, push-notification, hosting, and storage providers; a club or event organizer when the rider joins that workspace; a person receiving a rider-created temporary share link; or authorities when disclosure is legally required or necessary to address an emergency or protect users. Public safety and business-data providers may receive the search area, route waypoints, vehicle query, or other request details required to return the requested result.
ThrottleRun uses encrypted HTTPS connections, role and record permissions, tenant and club isolation, protected device tokens, encrypted storage for selected sensitive values such as emergency-contact phone numbers and push tokens, multi-factor authentication, audit history, signed deployment credentials, and rate and replay protections. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Account, route, recorded-ride, motorcycle, maintenance, club, event, and communication records remain available while the account or relevant workspace is active unless the rider or an authorized organizer deletes them. Live-share access expires or is cleared when sharing or the ride ends. A scheduled account deletion has a seven-day recovery period. After that period, eligible rider records are deleted or de-identified; limited event-integrity, security, billing, and audit evidence may be retained when required for dispute handling, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal obligations.
A signed-in rider can edit profile information, keep aggregate club mileage sharing off, stop location collection, end live sharing, revoke a paired device, export account data, and schedule account deletion from the rider profile. Club owners must transfer or archive active clubs before deleting the owner account. Deletion instructions are also available at throttlerun.org/data-deletion/.
ThrottleRun is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly create rider accounts for children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information should contact us so the account and information can be reviewed and removed.
Material policy changes will be identified by an updated effective date and may also be announced in the rider workspace or by email when appropriate. ThrottleRun keeps route planning, ride recording, location sharing, event participation, and maintenance records under the signed-in rider's control.
